I partly grew up in Germany. My mother is German, much of my family lives there, as do some of my closest friends. I love being in Germany and if I was not living in Scotland and was free to live wherever I wanted to, then I would probably choose to live there.

Not only do I have family and friends in Germany, but my work also takes me there fairly regularly, for conferences, meetings, and archival work. Of course, whenever possible, I make images as and when I can. Because of the reasons for my recent travel there, these often tend to be cityscapes rather than landscapes - if I’m travelling to a conference, for example, getting out into the country without a car AND being back for morning conference sessions is a bit problematic! However, family holidays offer opportunities to get out into the countryside; I also intend to gradually add more images from my transparency archives to these pages.
